Final Report

The Altoona Area High School is one of three buildings in the district’s additions and renovations project. The new three story school building, referred to as the “B” Building, will be the largest at about 240,000 square feet. The total cost of the project is approximately $88 million, with $48 million dedicated to just the new “B” Building. Construction began in May of 2018 and is expected to be completed by June of 2020. The analyses in this proposal are meant to determine the effectiveness of sustainable design choices, as well as reducing the reliance on utilities, with the goal of reducing operating costs.
